SUVs are one of the most popular types of vehicles in the world. Every major automaker considers it their duty to have several different SUVs in their lineup in several price categories.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, you need to decide on the amount of money that you can afford to spend. Given the wide variety of models on offer, in each price category, you can choose an SUV with a wide variety of parameters, suitable for different purposes and having the necessary capabilities.
Step 2
Decide on the purpose for which the SUV is being purchased. For forays into serious off-road, for fishing and hunting, a professional off-road conqueror is desirable. For trips with the family to the dacha and picnics, you need a large car. For image and city trips, it is better to choose a parquet crossover.
Step 3
The choice between buying a new or used SUV is more relevant than ever. The point is that a 5-year-old SUV can be bought for 50% of the original price, and a 10-year-old for 20%. Unlike passenger cars, frame SUVs have a colossal margin of safety, and buying a not new car can be quite profitable. If an SUV is planned as a second car in a family, most often the choice is a used one.
Step 4
Decide on the manufacturer. Japanese and German automakers have a reputation for quality, but not cheap. American cars are large, powerful engines and comfortable cabins for relatively little money. Korean cars are of high quality, but much cheaper than competitors from Germany and Japan. Domestic cars also have fans.
Step 5
If the car is intended to carry a large family or belongings, it is better to buy a large five-door SUV with a large interior or a pickup truck. Otherwise, it makes sense to purchase a relatively compact car - it will be more convenient with it in city mode. A large SUV is also necessary in cases where it is planned to use it as a tractor for trailers.
Step 6
Most of the cars sold on the Russian market have gasoline engines. However, in terms of fuel economy, the diesel option is worth considering. If you are buying a professional SUV, then the diesel here is without options. It's the same with the gearbox: the manual gearbox shows advantages only on serious SUVs, for everyone else the automatic is preferable.
Step 7
The last parameter is the choice of additional options. It is difficult to advise anything here, everything is decided by individual preferences. The only thing that is better not to save money is on additional active and passive safety systems. For an SUV, any proposed systems that increase its reliability will not be superfluous. A more powerful battery or generator is much better than a cool audio system or air conditioner.
