Many car owners do not even know what kind of drive is used in the car. In fact, four-wheel drive does not always mean that the car uses it in any driving mode. Four-wheel drive, the key to which you should always have with you, has some restrictions on use and features of inclusion. Therefore, it is important to know how to properly run a full wire and use it.
Instructions
Step 1
Four-wheel drive is started using a transfer case that connects the front axle and the box, and hubs (wheel couplings) that connect the front wheels and axle shafts. To engage four-wheel drive, pull the transfer case lever towards you, thereby moving it to the 4H position, without squeezing the clutch at this time. If you turn on the all-wheel drive UAZ, say, on early models, then it is not recommended to do this at speeds above 80 km / h. Higher speeds can be allowed on modern car models.
Step 2
However, in order to prolong the life of the transmission, do this operation at a low speed in any model of machine. If the vehicle is equipped with automatic hubs, the described steps will suffice. If you have manual hubs, stop before changing to four-wheel drive, get out of the car and manually turn the clutches to the LOCK position on the two front wheels.
Step 3
To engage a lower gear in the transfer case, stop, squeeze the clutch, drown the transfer case lever and pull it all the way towards you to position 4L.
Step 4
Many vehicles are equipped with four-wheel drive systems with a front axle connection. In this case, there is no differential in the transfer case, and, therefore, there is no need to block it. These systems have their advantages and disadvantages, but always remember that it is not recommended to drive on a road with good traction when using 4WD.
Step 5
For the same reason, the same wheels should be installed in the car. To improve off-road capability, use an LSD or a mechanical locking differential in the rear axle as needed. In the latter case, turn on the blocking at a speed below 5 km / h, for which set the limiter. Do not forget to turn off the lock after overcoming off-road conditions. LSD turns on and off on its own, but remember that it needs a special oil in the rear axle to function.
