Light tuning, the main focus of which is wheel illumination, is a great way to decorate your car, making it brighter and more memorable. In addition, you can make it with your own hands, without resorting to the help of specialists, using a conventional LED strip for this.
Necessary
- - LED Strip Light;
- - plastic clamps;
- - drill;
- - drill;
- - mounting tape;
- - thin rolled tire.
Instructions
Step 1
There are two ways to illuminate the wheels. The first is to attach the LED strip to the front suspension, which has a protective cover for the brake disc. It is to its edge that the tape will need to be fixed. To do this, drill holes along the entire perimeter of the casing at a distance of 5 cm from each other, the diameter of which should ensure the passage of plastic clamps. Now use the plastic clips to secure the tape through the drilled holes.
Step 2
If you plan to use a tape with a self-adhesive base, then you do not need to drill holes, it will be enough to degrease the surface of the protective casing. After that, an LED strip is glued to the cleaned place without the use of additional fasteners.
Step 3
If the car does not have a protective mud casing of the brake disc, then you can use the second method of attaching the LED strip, which consists in the device of additional structures. It can be a frame that mimics a missing casing. To do this, you can use lightweight metal items such as a thin rolling bar or mounting tape.
Step 4
First, set the beams coming from the center of the wheels. It is to them that in the future it will be necessary to attach the rim for the backlight device. For convenience, dismantle the brake disc and caliper. Be sure to measure the brake disc when calculating the beam length to ensure clearance between the disc and the outer rim.
Step 5
Install the outer rim. It will serve as a retaining structure for the LED strip, which must be fastened with clamps in the same way as in the first version. But before that, do not forget to install a spacer on the brake disc, which will have to protrude from the rim. This method of mounting the wheel lights differs in that the lighting will come from the center of the wheel, and not from behind the spokes.
