People who crave adventure, who lack adrenaline, those who crave speed, buy their own motorcycles. On these two-wheeled monsters, you can easily go around any traffic jam, drive with friends outside the city, and also just feel the speed. In the event of a breakdown, it must be repaired, and doing it yourself is much easier than in the case of a car. Moreover, the owner is able to make many parts for the iron horse with his own hands. For example, you can make a wheel for a motorcycle.
Instructions
Step 1
Check what size rim is used on the wheel that needs replacement, or decide what size wheel you would like to make. The best option for a two-wheeled motorcycle would be an 18 rim.
Step 2
Find out how many holes are in your motorcycle's brake drum. This is important so that you can accurately determine how many spokes should be in the wheel. Typically, in a two-wheeled motorcycle, the brake drum has 40 holes.
Step 3
Find an 18 chrome rim. You can find it in a specialist store, through advertisements, or in markets that offer used car parts. It is important that the rim is straight.
Step 4
Prepare the spokes for the wheels. They, like the rim, can be found by removing from an unnecessary wheel or by purchasing in a specialized store. In this case, you should know that it is better to purchase large knitting needles, since they can always be shortened.
Step 5
Shorten the spokes if required. In the case when the spoke is screwed into the wheel by 18, it should be shortened from the thread side, and then cut the thread with a die to the desired size. If the spokes will be screwed into the wheel by 16, they must be shortened from the rivet side.
Step 6
Insert the knitting needles as follows. First pass the 2 spokes on each side of the brake drum, pitching a hole in the drum. Then insert 8 knitting needles, leave a hole and insert 10 knitting needles.
Step 7
Disassemble the wheel back if everything is in order. Chrome the spokes and insert them back in the same way as before. Place the tire on the rim according to the size of the rim.
