People who lack adrenaline buy their own motorcycles. These two-wheeled monsters can easily go around almost all traffic jams. The fuel consumption of a motorcycle is much lower than that of a car, which makes it more attractive. However, the motorcycle also requires maintenance. For example, sooner or later you will have to change the wheels of your motorcycle. How can you do it yourself, without resorting to the services of a service?

Instructions

Step 1

First, find a place where you will change wheels. a garage is best suited for this purpose, because in it you will be protected from bad weather, and there will be plenty of space. Switch off the ignition of the motorcycle. Now you need to hang the front wheel so that it is in the air. The distance from the floor to the wheel should be about 20 centimeters. Place an object, for example, a wooden block, under the supporting part of the structure. Secure the motorcycle carefully so that it will not fall when removing the wheel. It is much easier and more convenient to carry out all the manipulations together.

Step 2

Then locate the left-hand retainer nut. Move it off the ground and unscrew it a few turns. You need to pull off the nut with a smooth, strong movement so as not to accidentally damage the thread. If the nut at first went easily, and then began to scroll tightly, then stop, make a few turns in the opposite order and continue to unscrew it further. If you do this, turn out the front axle of the wheel, which has a thread on the left side.

Step 3

Now carefully remove the front axle. In this case, it is necessary that the second person holds the wheel in the same position. Then remove the protective cap from the wheel. The wheel itself should now be easily removed along with the brake cover. It is necessary to dismantle the brake cover from the already removed wheel. Removing the rear wheel is virtually the same. After removing the protective cap, you need to slide the wheel off the brake pads and carefully pull it out of the frame fork. When doing this, make sure that no parts are damaged. The plug will need to be cleaned with a rag and inspected for deep or ragged scratches. If there are any, then it is necessary to polish the surfaces of the fork.
