It is necessary

  • 1) Universal wrench for wheel removal;
  • 2) Two keys for "17";
  • 3) The key to "22";
  • 4) A set of heads;
  • 5) Jack;
  • 6) Ball joint puller.

Instructions

Step 1

Support the vehicle. Also place shoes under the wheels of the vehicle for stability. Using a universal wrench (balonnik), rip off the wheel-to-hub nuts. Jack up the vehicle. Then, using a balloon, unscrew the fastening nuts. Remember to rip off the nuts first. Otherwise, you will not be able to spin them when the machine is raised. At the end of the work, remove the wheel and set it aside.

Step 2

During work, you will remove the hub together with the brake disc. To do this, you need to remove the ball joints from the wheel hub mount. To do this, install the puller into the pins of the ball joints. At the same time, unscrew the support fastening nut with a wrench “22” and press out the upper and lower ball pins. A characteristic sound should be heard, which will mean that the ball joint is pressed out. After that, loosen the mounting bolts and lift the upper arm. As soon as the upper ball joint pops up, lift the hub to remove it from the lower arm. Remove the drive if the vehicle is front wheel drive. After such an operation, the drive boot will need to be replaced. Remember to remove the brake hose from the caliper.

Step 3

Remove the caliper. Bend back the retaining plates of the attachment. Using the “17” head, unscrew the two fastening bolts. Then take it off. You can also remove the pads before removing the caliper. Now only the hub and brake disc remain. Remove the decorative strip. Then unscrew the hub nut. Remove the inner bearing race. Unscrew the two guide pins with a wrench. Now it remains to remove the brake disc. After removing the disc, only the hub itself remains. Do not forget to replace the bearings and lubricate with lithol before installing the hub.
