Step 1

It should be noted right away that the G-401, G-411, G-421 generators have a mechanical ignition system. To set the ignition, it is necessary to correctly adjust the gap between the ignition contacts. Note that you will also have to adjust the outline at the same time.

Step 2

Particular attention should be paid to adjusting the clearances in the breaker. For this purpose, turn the rotor with a ten key to the position in which the gap will be greatest. Then loosen the screw that secures the terminal block to the cover. Using a screwdriver, turn the eccentric to such a position that the gap between the contacts is about 0.4 mm. For work, it is best to purchase a special probe in advance. Its thickness is 0.45 mm. It should be slightly clamped by the contacts.

Step 3

If you are an experienced driver, you can adjust the clearance while the engine is running. To do this, slowly turn the eccentric with a screwdriver. Determine the gap at which the engine rpm will be greatest when the throttle is static. After that, you need to tighten the screw of the contact post well. The clearance should not change on its own during further driving.

Step 4

After setting the gap in the breaker, it is necessary to set the piston to the top dead center, and then return it back by 3 mm. For convenience, you can insert a screwdriver into the cylinder head hole. Cranking can be done with the same key by ten. Please note that the piston must stop at the position 3 mm before TDC in the direction from TDC.

Step 5

Instead of a screwdriver, you can use a micrometer that has an hour head. A vernier caliper with a certain depth gauge is also good for this purpose. Loosen the stator bolts and start turning it so that the contacts in the breaker begin to move apart from each other, that is, open.
