The hydraulic compensator takes engine oil through a special ball valve. This oil begins to press on the piston of the device, increasing its height until the valve clearance in the gas distribution mechanism reaches a minimum value. More engine oil in your car will not flow into the hydraulic lifter - this is achieved due to the maximum compression limit. After the appearance of a depletion between the hydraulic compensator and the valve, the ball valve will open again and begin to pump oil into itself. Thus, in your car, the maximum pressure inside the hydraulic compensator will always be created, and the gap between the valve and the mechanism itself will be minimal.

The hydraulic compensator mechanism provides good traction, economical fuel consumption, increased resource of the gas distribution system and quiet operation of the engine. But this device is not without its drawbacks: now you have to buy better quality oil, and in case of repairs, prepare for difficulties and significant costs. Some motorists are trying to install hydraulic lifters on a classic VAZ 2105-2107 engine, but I must say right away that this cannot be done without special knowledge. Moreover, you will need to change the camshaft in advance and stock up on the necessary tools.
