Sometimes situations arise when the car hood is closed and stubbornly refuses to open. On different brands of cars, the device of the locking mechanisms works differently, but any of them, including the hood of a Mercedes, can be opened with the necessary tools at hand.
Necessary
- - a hammer;
- - chisel;
- - non-bending steel rod, 1-4 mm in diameter.
Instructions
Step 1
First, try opening the hood using safer methods than using a chisel and hammer. For example, ask someone to firmly press the hood from above, closer to the far headlights, above the locks, while pulling the cable yourself at this time. Not everyone succeeds in opening the hood the first time, but with patience and effort, every motorist, even a beginner, will be able to achieve the desired result.
Step 2
If you still have not managed to open the hood in a gentle way, then it's time to use a chisel. Insert it into the left hole of the grill (second from the left) and rest it against the plastic cable guard. Then lightly hit the chisel with a hammer so that a crack forms in the protection, parallel to the ground. Performing this operation, be extremely careful, accurately calculating your strength. Otherwise, you can severely damage the protective part.
Step 3
Insert a steel bar into the top hole near the center and push it into the right side of the crack. Make sure the rod is firmly seated in the plastic cable guard. Then, using force, pull the rod to the right, using it as a lever. After this operation, the hood on your car should open.
Step 4
If all else fails, crawl under the car and remove the protection. Next, discard the terminal from the generator and feed there a "plus" from a freshly charged battery. After this procedure, the hood will open.
