Step 1
First you need to decide what you need a computer for in your car. It can perform a wide range of functions. It can act as a multimedia center, that is, it will be used to receive high quality music, watch movies and TV channels. You can also install a simple computer that will inform you about the technical condition of the car. If you decide to install such a simple computer, then you need to purchase one. To do this, visit special stores where sellers can tell you which model is best for you. There is now a wide range of different models on the market. You need to choose the model that best suits the criteria for price and quality. Also check the manual for your machine. Very often, the manufacturer indicates in it the models recommended for installation.
Step 2
After purchasing the on-board computer, carefully study the instructions and the operation manual that come with the kit. In them you can find all the detailed connection diagrams. The VAZ 2114 dashboard already provides a standard place for installation, which is closed with this plug. Carefully remove this plug, it is held by the plastic fasteners. Try not to break them, as in the future, when selling a car, you can remove the on-board computer and install it on another car, since on-board computers are usually universal and can work on different car models.
Step 3
Now you need to thread all the wires into a regular place and bring them out from the bottom of the torpedo. The VAZ 2114 already has a standard 9-pin connector for the on-board computer. It is to him that you will connect your new computer. After removing the covers, locate this 9-pin connector. Now you need to connect all the wires to the on-board computer and the standard connector according to the attached instructions. You will also have to find a diagnostic block. It is located at the bottom of the dashboard near the floor tunnel. Connect the wire from the computer to the diagnostic block.
Step 4
All that remains is to connect and install an external temperature sensor. Usually it is connected with a blue wire. This wire must be installed in the fourth socket of the on-board computer. The sensor itself must be brought under the hood and secured there carefully. Please note that the standard sensor will not be used. Now it remains to turn on the computer. An initial self-test should start. After that, configure your computer.
