To install the windshield of a car, two mounting options are used: the gluing method, and the method using a sealing tape. The use of sealing tape is most often found in domestic cars. In foreign brands, only an insert is currently used, and the domestic manufacturer has practically abandoned the use of tapes. The complexity of the process also depends on the method of glass fixing.

Flat screwdriver and strong nylon cord, electric hair dryer, high strength glue, steel string
Instructions
Step 1
When replacing glued glass, carry out the replacement work in warm and dry rooms. This will prevent the glass from peeling off the body during operation.
Step 2
Heat the windshield with a hair dryer in the areas where the adhesive is applied. Remove the rubber seal with a tool. Do this very carefully.
Step 3
With the help of an assistant, pull the string and slip it between the glass and the body. Pull the string down gently without jerking.
Step 4
Prepare the attachment point by removing the remnants of the old glue and degreasing. Apply the adhesive evenly to the area where the glass is attached. Replace the glass with an assistant.
Step 5
When replacing glass with a sealing strip, first of all, remove the wipers, they will interfere with the installation process. Remove the old windshield by pushing it out. Start at the top corners. Ask a helper to hold the glass.
Step 6
After removing the old windshield, remove the rubber seal from it or use a new one. Using the old gasket, clean the grooves and rinse with water.
Step 7
Place the new glass on a flat surface with a soft cloth underneath. This will help avoid unwanted scratches. Slide on and align the seal.
Step 8
Before installing on the body, lubricate the grooves of the seal with soapy water or petroleum jelly. This will make it easier to position and align the glass.
Step 9
Insert the nylon cord into the groove of the seal using a screwdriver so that the two ends of the cord meet at the top.
Step 10
Align and fit the glass to the body opening. Then gently start pulling one end of the cord into the body. Ask an assistant to press on the glass where the cord runs. If the glass does not fit into place, then check its dimensions without a seal in relation to the body opening. If the dimensions match, repeat the procedure again.
