Distilled water is a liquid purified from chemical and other impurities by distilling water through purification devices - distillers. You can buy purified water at pharmacies.
Instructions
Step 1
Almost all modern water bodies and rivers are polluted with a dangerous amount of harmful impurities, especially in large cities. Treatment facilities filter river water, but drinking it in its pure form is still dangerous for humans. Therefore, where purity of water is of particular importance, purified distilled water is used. On its basis, medicines are prepared in pharmacies, it is given to drink to young children and people with vulnerable immunity. In addition, distilled water is necessary for motorists, because only purified water can be poured into batteries. Therefore, you can buy real distilled water only in pharmacies and some car dealerships. However, you need to check the quality of such a purchase.
Step 2
Distilled water practically does not differ from tap water in color, taste and smell. It is possible to notice the smallest differences only in laboratory conditions with the help of special devices. However, it is known that pure water that does not contain impurities cannot conduct electric current. That is why it is used for car batteries. Therefore, you can check the quality of distilled water using electrical devices.
Step 3
Assemble the electrical circuit connecting a regular charged battery and an LED light bulb. Place the contacts between the elements of the circuit and lower the ends of the wires into the water so that they do not touch. If the water used is free of impurities, it will not be able to conduct electric current, therefore, the discharge from the battery will not "light up" the LED light bulb. Make sure the electrical circuit is working. If you add a pinch of ordinary table salt to a vessel with distilled water and carry out the same experiment with an electrical circuit, then the LED light will "light up", having received a charge from the battery.
