If you have a used car that has poor road holding, then don't despair, you just need to get good stands. However, this will not be enough. All new racks need pumping. If you do not pump the strut, then it will have a detrimental effect on the piston system of the shock absorber.
Instructions
Step 1
You need to pump over new racks 2-3 times. In this way, you can identify a possible defect in the mechanism. Valve jamming occurs quite often. Please note that small dips in the resistance of the mechanism, as well as the speed of the stem exit, cannot be called a malfunction. All this has nothing to do with the operation of the shock absorber.
Step 2
So, we are pumping the rack. We turn the shock absorber upside down, and then squeeze it with a smooth motion. You can't do it in jerks. The shock absorber rod in this position must be fixed for about 3 seconds. We hold the stock and turn the shock absorber upside down. In this position, you need to fix it for about 5 seconds. After you have kept the shock absorber in this position for the specified time, you need to smoothly extend the stem to the end of the stroke.
Step 3
We turn the shock absorber upside down and interrupt for 2-3 seconds. Then we repeat the above steps 2-3 more times. After you have finished pumping the shock absorber, you need to keep it in a vertical position with the stem up. Next, a control operation. Press the stem in sharp but short strokes. The piston must move smoothly and without dips. There are shock absorbers in which, when fully extended, the valve mechanism enters the compensation cavity. It is needed in order to expand the shock absorbing fluid during warming up. There should be no resistance in the valve train.
Step 4
After you have completed pumping the shock absorber, you need to place it in the working position. In this case, the stem will be vertically at the top.
