Instructions

Step 1

Stop engine and remove key from ignition. Wait a while to allow the motor to cool down. After that, open the hood and disconnect the wire from the "minus" of the battery. Take a screwdriver in your hands and use it to remove the four screws that secure the upper engine cover.

Step 2

Use a writing instrument to mark the high-voltage wires, which will be useful for subsequent assembly. After that, remove the tips of these wires from the spark plugs and clean the spark plugs. To do this, use a brush, compressed air, or an ordinary vacuum cleaner. This procedure is necessary in order to exclude the ingress of dirt, dust into the cylinders after the candles are removed from their seats.

Step 3

Using a special candle wrench, unscrew the candles themselves and inspect them carefully. A normal candle is characterized by the brown color of the electrodes and insulator. Soot deposits indicate that you are using an overly saturated fuel mixture, and oil indicates that it easily passes through the valve bushings or rings. This is fraught with difficult starting of the engine and its unstable operation.

Step 4

Cracks or chips on the insulator are evidence that the piston is damaged, and various light-shaped deposits indicate the low quality of gasoline, as well as the need to replace the valve stem seals. Remember that if you have the opportunity, then replace such candles. If not, clean thoroughly and reuse.

Step 5

Before installing, check the integrity of the threads and carefully start screwing the candles into their original places. Be careful not to skew during this process. Tighten the spark plugs completely with a spark plug wrench. Remember that the recommended tightening torque is 25 Nm.
