So, the engine starts, and its speed is brought to the specified frequency, after which the voltage at the battery terminals is measured with a voltmeter. If the voltage does not exceed, in the event of a power outage of all electrical appliances, 14, 8 V, then the regulator is in good order. And if the voltage exceeds the specified data, then it will be necessary to connect the generator case to the car body with an additional cable, and if, after the actions taken, the voltage remains elevated, then the data indicate a clear violation of the voltage regulator's performance.

But in the case when, after connecting the additional cable, the voltage stabilizes and remains in the specified mode, then it is necessary to clean the standard contacts of the ground connection of the engine with the car body.
