Removing a bumper on a car is not difficult. However, each machine model has its own nuances, knowing that you can carry out this procedure with less time.
Necessary
wrench, ruler
Instructions
Step 1
To remove the front bumper on the Audi 80, open the bonnet and detach the underbody protection from the engine compartment. Then find the cross slot bolt that is behind the bumper in the middle. Remove from the bumper the radiator grille inserts located on both sides at the bottom of the bumper.
Step 2
Look into the holes formed, inside which there is a 6 mm socket head bolt. Unscrew it with a wrench. Remove the plastic plugs at the rear ends of the bumper. Then carefully disengage the ends of the part to be removed from the body brackets.
Step 3
Remove the ends of the bumper towards the front. Pull towards you and remove the bumper permanently. Remember that if you have fog lights installed, be sure to disconnect the electrical connectors that are connected to this equipment. If equipped with headlight washers, disconnect the hoses from the injectors and close them with plugs to prevent the reservoir from emptying.
Step 4
Install the bumper in its place in the reverse order: insert it into the brackets, then insert the bumper sidewalls so that the end parts are in contact with the wheel arch lining. Hang the side pieces from the bottom edge of the wing. Next, click on it from the side to fix the upper part.
Step 5
Align the bumper. To do this, measure the distance between the bumper and the metal strip just below the headlights. This value should be constant along its entire length. The decisive factor is the dimension between the installed part and the lower edge of the bonnet, which in the optimal variant should be about 6 mm. Otherwise, detach the bumper again and carefully slide its brackets in the longitudinal direction, having previously loosened them.
