Has your car's engine power dropped dramatically? Does the car start intermittently? It's time to change the fuel filter, as dirt and condensation, which a dirty fuel filter cannot cope with, have a negative effect on the engine, contribute to the formation of corrosion in the power system, and in winter they may prevent the engine from starting, as they simply freeze in the fuel hoses and clog them …
It is necessary
- - new fuel filter;
- - Phillips screwdriver;
- - head to "10";
- - small capacity;
- - lift or observation pit.
Instructions
Step 1
Relieve fuel pressure in the fuel supply system. To do this, in the passenger compartment, remove the right shield of the floor tunnel lining by unscrewing the self-tapping screw for the right shield of the floor tunnel lining with a Phillips screwdriver.
Step 2
Ignition OFF, remove the fuel pump fuse from the ECM fuse / relay box. Start the engine and let it idle until it runs out of fuel. Then turn on the starter for 2-3 seconds. The fuel system will then be depressurized.
Step 3
The fuel filter is attached to the body bracket above the rear suspension beam. Press on the spring clip of the fuel outlet tube tip and remove the tip from the filter fitting. Squeezing the two retainers of the fuel inlet tube tip, remove the tip from the filter fitting.
Step 4
Using the “10” head, loosen the tightening of the filter clamp bolt and remove the fuel filter from the clamp. Drain the fuel from the filter into a previously prepared container. Install the new filter in reverse order.
Step 5
Install the fuse for the fuel pump (fuel pump), turn on the ignition and check the tightness of the connections.
