The reason for the "figure eight" is the weakening of the tension on several spokes. You can eliminate the malfunction that has arisen at home by tightening the knitting needles. “Pit” is a more severe deformation of the wheel when the rim of the wheel bends towards the center of the wheel. In case of significant deformation, the wheel must be replaced. In other cases, the disassembly and repair of the wheel will have to be done at a special stand if it is a rather expensive model.
Step 3
Deformation in the shape of an oval occurs with uneven tension on the needles from different sides. This malfunction can also be corrected by yourself by tightening the spokes from the side where the bulge arose. In case of serious deformation of the rim, remove the wheel from the bike, loosen all the spokes and, resting the rim on something at two opposite points, straighten it with your hands. Then place the wheel on the bike and carefully align it. To fix a deformed section of the rim, you can use a special hook made of a metal strip with a soft pad.

Dents on the rim edges can be removed with a hammer and wood trim. Remember to inflate the tires well before you start hammering.
Step 5
Deformation of car rims can only be eliminated in a car service. The degree of deformation is determined using special equipment. After diagnostics and determination of the type of deformation, the disc is placed on the stand. The main principle in this case is to determine the direction and force of the impact that led to the deformation of the disk and then apply a reverse force to eliminate it.
