Step 1

Depending on the type of spacers, the distance from the body to the frame will be increased by 40-80 mm. In combination with wheels of larger diameter, the ground clearance will increase by 50-150 mm.

The suspension lift allows for a more significant increase in cross-country ability, however, it will increase the center of gravity of the UAZ, which will make the SUV more dangerous in motion. When choosing a suspension lift height, strike a balance between increasing flotation and increasing the risk of rollover. It is very important to take into account the limiting angle of inclination of the cardan shafts, before reaching which they retain their performance. Also note that the greater the angle of inclination of the propeller shaft, the more it wears out.

Step 4

To combat the increased risk of rollover, widen the track with wheel spacers, wide tires, negative offset wheels and / or replacing the axles with Bars or Spicer. Install disc brakes, which will widen the track by 40-50 mm. To get rid of the problem of the limiting angle of inclination of the propeller shafts, install extended shafts, spacers between the flanges of the propeller shafts and axles, or increase the length of the propeller shaft with its balancing.

Choose a way to lift the suspension depending on how much height you want to get. For low lift heights, simply add sheets, or replace the springs with others with more sheets, or fit longer spring shackles. A simple and practical way is to install spacers between the axles and springs. Another option is to install spacers in the spring mounting brackets. Both of the latter options are often used on UAZ "loaves" because of the ability to lift to different heights and because of the preservation of native parts.

Step 6

Please note that for successful off-roading, the suspension must be as energy intensive as possible in order to better ensure the contact of the wheel with the ground. The wrong way or the wrong lifting technique can make the suspension very stiff.

Step 7

To lift the front spring suspension of the UAZ, install spacers between the springs and the chassis support cups. Or install longer springs. When doing this, take into account the changes in the angles of the levers. The more this angle changes, the worse the SUV's handling and response to obstacles will become. To combat this, lower the arm mounting brackets.

Step 8

Combine the body lift intelligently with the suspension lift. Budgetary and simple solutions make it possible to make a 50-70 mm body lift and the same amount of a suspension lift for the UAZ. Higher parameters are possible, but their complexity and cost are much higher.
