A car lift is a mechanism that helps a lot when repairing cars. It can be of various types, but each of them must be carefully monitored to avoid unwanted situations. The first priority when using a car lift is to correctly install it. How to install it correctly?
Instructions
Step 1
Make a line for the 2-post car lift frame. Please note that the bumper of the car will extend beyond the "gate" by 2 meters. Take care of the convenient arrival of the car. Be sure to calculate the height of the ceiling of the room where the mechanism will be installed. It must be such that the vehicle, when raised to the maximum height, fits with the boot and hood open.
Step 2
Make markings of the foundation, namely the places for the car lift racks. The foundation should be slightly larger for the area for placing the racks and sink 30 cm in depth. Reinforce the foundation with metal products.
Step 3
Install the car lifter frame. When installing, pay attention to the correspondence of the levels of the longitudinal and transverse platforms. Please note that the car lift frame may move when pouring concrete.
Step 4
Insert the foundation bolts into the fixing holes. The length of the part must be at least 200 mm. The shape of the bolt should look like the number “7” upside-down by 180 degrees. This will help prevent the bolt from turning and pulling out. Also tighten the nuts and tighten after the concrete has dried.
Step 5
Attach to the rack frame. Equalize the height of the carriages on the racks for screw lifts and consider pulling the cable for hydraulic.
Step 6
Put on the chain. Tighten the bolts that secure the uprights. Correct deviations from the vertical by placing metal plates under the posts.
Step 7
Assemble the electrical equipment using the electrical diagram. Invite a professional for this. The main work of the car lift will depend on it.
Step 8
Start the car lifter and check that the movements specified by the Up and Down buttons match.
