Checking the oil level in the engine and gearbox at least once a week should definitely become a habit of every Daewoo Nexia owner. This will allow you to monitor the presence of oil in the engine and gearbox not lower than the minimum mark on the oil dipstick and see the degree of contamination of the oil, and therefore change it in a timely manner. As a result, the engine of your Daewoo Nexia will serve you for a long time, and it is unlikely that serious damage will happen to it.
It is necessary
- - a piece of clean, dry cloth or rags;
- - overpass or "pit";
- - a container with a volume of at least 3 liters;
- - spanner key for "13";
- - a special syringe for adding oil (if it is not there, then use a medical syringe or a bulb for enemas).
Instructions
Step 1
Before checking the oil level in the engine or gearbox of the Daewoo Nexia, prepare a piece of clean, dry cloth or rags.
Step 2
To check the engine oil level, remove the dipstick and wipe it dry with a pre-prepared cloth. Insert the dipstick back into the hole until it stops and remove it. Now take a close look at the oil and make sure it is not overly dirty or foreign. Make sure the oil level on the dipstick is between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks. Add oil if the oil level is low.
Step 3
Checking the oil level in the gearbox is somewhat more difficult than in the engine, since structurally for the Daewoo Nexia gearbox, an oil dipstick is not provided.
Step 4
In order to check the oil level in the gearbox, put your car on an overpass or on a "pit". Secure the machine with the parking brake.
Step 5
Clean dirt and dust from the surface of the gearbox housing next to the filler plug and place a container with a volume of at least 3 liters under the filler plug.
Step 6
Unscrew the filler cap using a box wrench set to "13".
Step 7
Now insert your finger into the resulting hole. You should be touching the surface of the oil. Otherwise, the oil level in the gearbox is insufficient.
Step 8
If the oil level is below the edge of the bay hole, then take a special syringe (if not, a medical syringe or an enema bulb will do) and bring it up to the required rate.
Step 9
Repeat the steps in step 7.
Step 10
Allow excess oil to drain from the fill hole, then wipe the area next to it and the fill plug.
Step 11
Tighten the filler plug using the “13” spanner.
