It is necessary to adapt the throttle valve in the following cases: after installing a new part, after flushing it, when replacing the electronic control unit (ECU) and if information appears in the ECU about a failure in adaptation.
Necessary
- - diagnostic software or motortester;
- - carburetor cleaner.
Instructions
Step 1
Perform preparatory work before adaptation. Remove the damper (for car models with an AWT engine). If it is located on the side of the passenger compartment (in cars with an ADR engine), remove all pipes that block access to it. Flush the throttle with carburetor cleaner.
Step 2
Reinstall the shutter. Connect diagnostic equipment and start engine. Check the opening angle at XX (01 channel 3), its value should be equal to 3.5 (max 4.0), then warm up the engine to 85 degrees and turn it off.
Step 3
With the ignition on, adapt the flap as follows (for car models with an AWT engine). Remove all errors. Press in the following order: 01 (motor) - 04 (basic settings) - 60 (damper adaptation) or 98 (address for some older machine models).
Step 4
Press the button “adjust” or “adapt” in field 60, after that the message “adaptation is in progress” will be displayed, and after a few seconds - “adaptation is OK”. Switch off the ignition for fifteen seconds.
Step 5
Adapt the damper on vehicles with ADR engine as follows. Start the engine, warm it up and stop it. Go to the ICE on the dashboard, dial 08-060, in field 4 there should be Adp symbols. I. O. / n I. O. If this information is not available, dial 098.
Step 6
Adapt the damper in the group with the Adp symbols. The name Adp should appear in the field. Lauft. At the same time, noise should appear in the damper. If, after a few seconds, the inscription Adp I. O. appears, this means that the adaptation went well, if n. I. O., therefore, something is wrong and a malfunction needs to be identified.
