The throttle valve is designed to regulate the incoming air flow, which ensures a sufficient volume of the combustible mixture. This is a part of the car that does not require much attention to itself, but sometimes it gets dirty. The pollution is caused by oil dust.
Instructions
Step 1
The principle of operation of the throttle valve is that when the gas pedal is pressed, the cable pulls the throttle, and the air flow goes through it to the intake manifold. The harder you press the gas pedal, the greater the flow.
Step 2
To understand if the damper needs cleaning, you need to know the "symptoms" of a dirty damper. It can be:
- At speeds below 15 km / h, the car starts to twitch.
- The idle speed is "floating" and there are dips in the idle region.
- Engine starting is unstable.
Step 3
Before flushing the damper, it must be dismantled. It's not that hard. It is necessary to remove the air corrugation, disconnect the electrical wiring and the gas cable. For different models and brands of cars, the throttle body is attached with a different number of bolts and nuts (from 2 to four). They must be unscrewed for dismantling.
Step 4
By itself, cleaning the shutter does not require any tools, except for rags and aerosols with cleaning liquid. Remove the rubber seals before cleaning.
Step 5
An aerosol jet is applied to the surface of the parts to be cleaned. These are the damper itself, air channels and the inner wall of the block. After a generous application of aerosol to the surface of the parts, you need to wait 10-15 minutes. With a rag, gently wipe those places where the aerosol did not cope on its own.
Step 6
Throttle brushes should not be used, as they can remove the special coating from the inner walls of the block. And we must remember that the aerosol is very caustic, so take possible precautions.
