Car tinting has gained such popularity not only because it gives the car a more aesthetic appearance. First of all, tinting protects the driver from glare from the headlights of passing oncoming cars, from the sun's rays, hides what lies in the cabin, thereby ensuring safety. You can tint the car windows yourself, but only if all the nuances are observed.

Necessary

  • tinting film;
  • - building hair dryer;
  • - spray gun;
  • - a knife with a sharp blade;
  • - a scraper for driving out water or forcing.

Instructions

Step 1

First you need to choose a tint film. Do not forget that there are restrictions on toning. According to GOST 5727-88, the light transmission capacity of all vehicle glasses is established. So, the front glass must have a light transmittance of 70%. Front side windows - not less than 75%. If your throughput is lower, you may be fined or not issued a vehicle inspection pass. The traffic police check the throughput with a special device. The device can show measurements even in the dark, but in severe frosts it can no longer be used.

Step 2

Tinting films can be used for different purposes. You can use an impact-resistant film, which, when physically applied to the glass, will hold it, preventing it from breaking into small pieces. For more serious protection of the glass of the car, they can be covered with an armor film. If you just want to protect yourself from the harmful effects of the sun, cover the glass with a film with a UV filter.

Step 3

Be sure to wash your car before tinting. Rinse the glass inside with dishwashing detergent by spraying it with a spray bottle. This product leaves the least stains after drying. Scrape off the water with a scraper; do not use any cloth rags.

Step 4

Before cutting the film, determine in which direction it melts - horizontally or vertically. If the glass is slightly curved, then before cutting the film it must be adjusted to the size. For this, the film is applied to the glass from the outside and smoothed with a scraper. This will create folds. Your task is to drive them into the center of the film in the form of a tubercle, and then move them up or down in the center. Warm up the formed tubercle with a hairdryer until it disappears completely. After that, the film can be cut.

Step 5

Moisten the inner surface of the glass with water from a spray bottle. Detach the protective layer from the tint film and attach it to the glass. Smooth the film with a scraper, expelling water from under it until the film is in full contact with the glass surface.

Step 6

When tinting the side windows on top, leave the 3 mm strip un-tinted.
