In winter, many car owners find it difficult not only to warm up the car, but also to get into it first. And all because with a sharp temperature drop or severe frosts, the larvae of the locks, and the locks themselves, freeze. But you can prepare for such surprises in advance.

Step 1
Before the onset of obvious cold weather, treat the rubber seals of the doors and trunk with silicone grease. The lubricant prevents the rubber bands from freezing to the metal parts of the car, and you can easily open the doors.
Step 2
After the car wash, do not rush to leave the box immediately, but warm up the car thoroughly. With WD40, fill in the larvae of the door locks, the trunk lock, the hood. This preventive measure will prevent the water trapped in the castles from freezing.
Step 3
If the car has an alarm, then you can connect the remote engine start function (if the security system supports this mode). In severe frosts, when even the doors do not open, you need to start the car from the remote control and let it warm up for 30-40 minutes. During this time, the interior will warm up and the locks will thaw.
Step 4
If the doors from the alarm panel do not open, then you can try to open them with a key. But first pour a special defrosting liquid into the lock larvae. Under the influence of the composition, the ice will melt, and easily insert and turn the key. If there is no defrosting liquid, then you can treat the larvae of the locks with alcohol. Drop alcohol into the larva using a pipette. Note, however, that the defrosting time will increase.
Step 5
The use of an electric wrench gives a good result. The electric key is a key simulator that is inserted into the lock cylinder. Such a key works on batteries and heats up when turned on. In this way, you can defrost all the ice that got into the castle.
Step 6
In the most hopeless case, you can thaw the ice with boiling water. This method is applicable if the entire body of the car is covered with ice and it is impossible to get to the castle. Water the body with water carefully. As soon as the top layer has thawed a little, remove it with a brush. But the metal parts of the body cannot be watered with hot water - you can break the paintwork, which is susceptible to sudden changes in temperature.
