Necessary

  • -automobile;
  • - flat section of road or land;
  • -Absolutely flat wall to correct reflected light;
  • -paint for fixing marks on the wall.

Instructions

Step 1

First of all, prepare the vehicle for the headlight adjustment procedure. Look in the service book for the ratio of the pressure of the front and rear wheels. Check that the lamps are working properly. Refuel the car, it is better to fill the whole tank to improve the measurement performance and simulate the situation of the car's behavior on the road. Pay attention to the balance of the vehicle. Experienced motorists try to load the car evenly, or invite an assistant who voluntarily agrees to act as a balancing load.

Step 2

Align the headlights with the mesh to be applied to the wall. To do this, place the machine as close to the wall as possible. Mark a point on the wall opposite the center line of the machine. Then find the center points of the car headlights and draw them on the wall as well. Now connect the resulting headlights with a horizontal line. Draw vertical lines going through the centers of all points on the wall, including the center line that you drew first.

Step 3

The adjustment process is carried out differently depending on the vehicle model. Basically, it consists in tightening and adjusting the course of the headlight screws, which are responsible for the direction of the light beam. Sometimes you have to adjust the headlights individually, that is, isolate one of them, covering, for example, with cardboard or other available material.

Step 4

After general adjustments, move on to the second step - converging horizontal and vertical grid lines. The main task of adjusting the headlights is to ensure that the light goes as horizontally as possible, along the horizontal grid line displayed on the wall. Ideally, the headlights of a car should shine directly at the intersection of the horizontal and vertical lines. If done correctly, the headlights are now adjusted.
