Russian roads are the main enemy of Japanese cars. If your Mazda is not an SUV or a crossover, then the probability of catching the bottom in the next hole is very high. To solve this problem, it is often enough to raise the body by 2-3 cm.
Necessary
- - spacers with long bolts;
- - lift;
- - tool for removing and disassembling racks
Instructions
Step 1
To raise the front suspension, purchase aluminum spacers complete with extended bolts. Hang the machine on a lift before starting the process. Remove the front struts according to the repair manual. Tighten the springs with ties, having previously loosened the central nut of the rack. Disassemble the stand by removing its top cup. Knock out the native bolts (short) securing the rack from above to the body.
Step 2
Install new (long) ones from the kit instead. Assemble the rack in the reverse order of disassembly. Tighten the center nut. Install the spacer on top. If the spacer does not fit tightly, which indicates its poor quality, modify it with a file. Install the stand with the spacer in its regular place.
Step 3
In this case, the front of the Mazda will rise to a height equal to the height of the spacers. If your Mazda is a large model, purchase taller spacers with longer bolts than is required on compact cars. In the absence of those on sale, order the required turners
Step 4
Use a different method to raise the rear suspension - spring spacers. It depends on the design feature of many foreign cars - softer springs are placed on the rear suspension and they sag more often and more strongly. After hanging the machine on a lift and having removed the rear seat in advance, loosen the central nut of the strut, and then remove the strut itself.
Step 5
Perform all work in accordance with the repair instructions for your Mazda. Disassemble the stand and unscrew the center nut. From the bottom of the spring on the lower cup, install the spacer and assemble the stand. Place the assembled strut on the vehicle, tighten the center nut and place the seat. Select the height of the spacers according to the size of the machine and the degree of subsidence of the rear springs.
Step 6
During the work, pay attention to the rubber boot of the rack, the rebound buffer and the condition of the rack itself. If damage is found, repair it immediately. Diagnose the condition of the ball joints, steering rods, anti-roll bars. Change to new ones if necessary.
Step 7
If in the future you are planning frequent trips with full load, instead of spacers, install more powerful springs from heavier models or from the same, but with four-wheel drive.
