Not all of the Priora's trim levels have an audio recorder. It is not always convenient to go to the service center to install it, as it entails a loss of time and money. You can install the car radio yourself, since the installation process usually does not cause any difficulties.
Necessary
- - radio tape recorder;
- - screwdriver;
- - trim caps.
Instructions
Step 1
Put the car in the garage. Apply the parking brake. Open the hood and remove the negative terminal from the battery to completely de-energize the on-board power system. This precaution will prevent short circuits. Do not forget to turn off the alarm first if it is powered by a standard battery.
Step 2
Study the service book of your Priora. It must indicate the complete set. If your car has audio preparation, then this means that all the wiring necessary for connection has already been laid under the casing. If you have completely bare equipment, you will have to do the laying of wires throughout the car yourself.
Step 3
Consider the Priora center console. It provides a regular place for installing the radio. It is located above the glove compartment and is closed with a special plastic plug. This plug must be removed by gently picking it up with a flat screwdriver. It is also necessary to remove the plastic box, which stands in place of the mounting block. It keeps on snaps. Pull the box towards you using a slight force. The latches will pop out of the grooves and the plastic structure will be removed.
Step 4
Locate the wires attached to the back of the plastic shroud. You should see some chips. These chips must be attached to the radio connectors according to the instructions. Also remember to install the antenna. Almost all modern antennas are mounted on the inside of the windshield. Remove the right pillar trim for installation. It is held with snaps. Route the wire carefully and glue the antenna unit box. Carefully glue the outline to the glass. Install the trim back.
Step 5
Install the mounting block in its original location. Connect the antenna connector to the radio. Insert the radio tape recorder all the way into the mounting block and tighten the screws carefully. Put the negative terminal on the battery and turn on the radio for the first time.
