New modern audio systems in Lada Kalina began to be installed at the beginning of 2011. Cars in "norm" and "luxury" trim levels are equipped with them. The head unit adds about four thousand rubles to the cost of the car. However, many car enthusiasts prefer to put car radios to their taste, because Kalina has a European ISO connector, which simplifies installation.
Instructions
Step 1
Screw the speakers in the rear shelf after removing the protective grilles. Removing the covers without breaking the latches is almost impossible. Unscrew the four self-tapping screws and remove the shelf mounts. Slide the cover, remove it and put the shelf back.
Step 2
Screw on the speakers, paying attention to the fact that the rear speakers on the Lada Kalina are 13 centimeters. Connect the standard wires to the speakers, and do not confuse the polarity of the wires to be connected: they have connectors of different widths.
Step 3
Once everything is connected, put back the shelf and close the trunk. Do not forget to pick up all the necessary tools, they will still be needed for further work on installing the radio.
Step 4
Inspect the connector on your radio, if it's a standard ISO connector, you're in luck. If not, go to the store and buy an adapter called an "ISO 1x16 plug."
Step 5
Buy an antenna, because there is no standard one in Kalina, it is better to get an active antenna, which is attached to a piece of double-sided tape. Go to the car, then remove the plastic cover for the radio and pull it out.
Step 6
Mount the antenna under the bottom shelf under the glove compartment - this is one of the best places to receive stations. Connect all the wires and check the operation of the radio before everything falls into place. Make sure the antenna has power and both speakers are working properly. If everything is in order, then install the radio tape recorder in its proper place and enjoy the music.
