To increase the Niva's ground clearance, a suspension lift and the installation of other wheels are used. The suspension of Niva and Chevrolet-Niva cars is lifted in the same way. Without loss of comfort and versatility, a lift kit can be installed on the Niva, which increases the ground clearance by 50 mm. Additional installation of other rims with 235 / 75R15 or 235 / 70R16 tires gives a gain of another 40 mm. As a result, the ground clearance becomes 250 mm along the rear axle gearbox and 445 mm along the sills.

Instructions
Step 1
Front suspension. Place directional washers under the bottom suspension springs. This creates the desired angle of installation of the front spring. Place a spacer washer between the upper arm and the ball joint, thereby relieving the arm. Swap the steering knuckle levers or change the front anti-roll bar mount so that when the wheels turn to the maximum, the links do not rest on the stabilizer. If you want to further tune the front suspension, change the shock absorbers to long-stroke ones, change the springs, rubber spacers, CV joints anthers. Re-adjust the front suspension completely after the lift.
Step 2
Rear suspension. Install new rear spring cups. Perform their fastening on the standard bolts at the top and on the rear shock absorber mounting brackets. By the way, the attachment points of the rear shock absorbers must be moved upwards by 50 mm by installing new brackets. Also, make the rear axle rods adjustable or simply lengthen them. This is necessary in order to prevent the crosspiece from jamming. Reinforce the jet rods with a corner or weld double ones. Make the Panhard rod split and install the regulating sleeve. If desired, install a specialized rear stabilizer "Technomaster" developed by VAZ, replace the shock absorbers with long-stroke ones.
Step 3
In addition to the listed works, replace the brake hose with a longer one, bleed the brake system, adjust the spools and adjust the spring bumpers to the characteristics of the new suspension. It is recommended to install a rear CV joint. When carrying out a suspension lift on an old or worn out machine, be sure to install new CV joints. By installing steering knuckles with two ball bearings from the rear axle shaft, the problem of their adjustments and increased wear of the CV joints when installing wider and heavier wheels is eliminated. When installing wider and heavier tires, change to new ball joints and swingarms. If you change shock absorbers, at the same time strengthen their attachment points. Replace the rubber spacers in the suspension with polyurethane ones.
