First of all, look at the color of the fuel. To evaluate gasoline by this parameter, you need to pour a little of it into a transparent container, and then look at the light. If you notice any impurities, and the color of the liquid is whatever, but not pale yellow, then the gasoline is not of high quality. True, if you are at a large, reputable network gas station and see dark gasoline, don't panic. Many large oil refiners deliberately color fuel with special Sudanese dyes, thus protecting themselves from counterfeiting. You can also check gasoline in this way: add a little ordinary potassium permanganate to it. If it changed its color to pink, then it contains 100% water impurities.
Step 2
The quality of gasoline is also determined by smell. If the fuel fluid smells strange, for example, naphthalene, hydrogen sulfide, mercoptan sulfur (this is a pungent smell of liquefied gas) or some other uncharacteristic "aromas", then this is a fake.
Step 3
You can check the quality of petroleum products by touch. To do this, put some gasoline on your hand. If it is real, it will dry the skin, if it is fake, it will be smeared with a greasy spot.
Step 4
Another way to check fuel is to soak a piece of paper in a little liquid. After that, blow lightly on the leaf so that the gasoline evaporates a little. Now you can evaluate the resulting result. If the leaf remains white, then the fuel is good. If you see a greasy trail or some strange shade, then it is better to refrain from buying such gasoline.
Step 5
Try to determine the amount of tar contained in the fuel. To do this, drop gasoline on the glass and set it on fire. If the spots that appear are white, it means that the gasoline is safe, since there are practically no harmful resins in it. But if the circles are brown or yellow, then irreparable damage could be done to your engine.
