CASCO insurance is designed to help motorists whose car was damaged in an accident or was stolen. Remember that insurance does not exempt you from obeying traffic rules.
Instructions
Step 1
If your car, which you insured under CASCO insurance, is damaged, then the company in which you carried out the insurance will offer you several ways to restore it. These are repairs, cash payments or compensation for repairs that you have done yourself. In the latter case, do not forget to provide the insurers with a work order.
Step 2
Write a statement to the insurance company. Do this within three days after the insured event occurred. Prepare the necessary documents: passport, driver's license, PTS, technical inspection coupon and a receipt for payment of the insurance premium. Remember that for each individual case, the package of documents can be supplemented.
Step 3
Within five days, the company will conduct an examination to assess the damage. However, you can organize it yourself. To do this, contact an independent expert, pay for his services and get the necessary opinion. The insurance company will consider your application within 15 days, after which it will decide on the possibility of recognizing the insured event.
Step 4
Wait for the company's decision. To speed up the process, make yourself photocopies of all documents, write down the coordinates of the workers who are involved in your case, and periodically check the progress of the work. If the answer is no, then you will receive a written refusal, which you will challenge in court if you consider it unauthorized.
Step 5
The insurance indemnity is paid within the terms specified in the contract. Expect from a few days to a month. Remember that if your car was stolen, then you will receive compensation after the preliminary investigation period, which is approximately 20 days. Always read the contract you want to sign carefully. This is important because the company may refuse to pay you, referring to any point in the document you signed.
