Sometimes a situation arises when in a car with a fresh and serviceable battery and its normal charging, it is discharged, even if the car has not been used. The most common cause of such a malfunction is current leakage in the vehicle's on-board electrical network.

Instructions

Step 1

Is it possible to check the current leakage on the car? alternately checking the car's circuits using an ammeter and comparing the resulting value with the rated power of the consumers.

Step 2

Set the ignition key to the "0" position. Disconnect the positive terminal from the battery and connect the ammeter to the gap - the negative terminal to the vehicle terminal, and the positive terminal to the battery. Set the scale value of the ammeter within 10 amperes. At the same time, there should be no passing current; if it is present, check the contact circuits of the starter and generator.

Step 3

Then set the ignition key to the "parking" position. Turn off the car radio or other similar devices, interior, cigarette lighter, audio system, alarm, as well as the heating system and air conditioner. This is done by alternately disconnecting these devices from the power circuit (you can also remove the fuse corresponding to the device to be disconnected) until the leakage current disappears. After that, check the circuit of the device, when disconnected, the leaks stopped.

Step 4

Turn the key to position "1" (but do not start the engine!) And measure the value of the current passing through the battery, it should be within 1-2 amperes, depending on the type of engine and ignition. If the current significantly exceeds this value, then it will be possible to check the leakage of current on the car only by checking all the circuits of the car one by one, by turning them off one by one and measuring the current passing through the circuit, followed by checking it with the reference values specified in the documentation for the car.
