Instructions

Step 1

Use a screwdriver to pry the rubber plug that is installed in the metal dust shield. Remove the plug from the shield. Rear pads should be replaced on VAZ 2110, 2111, 2112 vehicles with lining thickness less than 1.5 mm. In this case, excessive piston stroke of the brake cylinder will occur, which leads to its leakage.

Step 2

Place the car on a lift or inspection pit to replace the pads. It is also possible to carry out repair work on a level ground. Remove the rear wheel and loosen the parking brake cable. Using a 12 wrench, unscrew the two guide pins. Sometimes they can be with a 7 mm inch hex.

Step 3

Rotate the brake drum evenly, hitting its end through a wooden guide. Before doing this, apply the drum install "liquid wrench" to the guide surface. Also, blows are allowed to be made through a mounting blade or hammer. When making them, observe the uniformity of centering the drum relative to the mounting surface.

Step 4

Remove the brake drum. Use a screwdriver to disconnect the end of the upper compression spring from the shoe. Remove the spring. Disengage the spring guide with a screwdriver. Disconnect the lower compression spring, remove the front shoe. Remove the lower compression spring. Remove the expander bar. Disconnect the guide spring from the rear brake shoe, remove the manual shoe lever from the cable end.

Step 5

Remove the shoe guide spring from the hole in the brake shield for replacement. Unpin the axle of the manual shoe drive lever. Remove the axle and move the lever to a new block. Pin the axle.

Step 6

Install new pads in reverse order. To make it easier to assemble the spring guide with the shoe, hook a cord or wire about 50 cm long to the spring hook. Tighten the spring and insert its end into the hole in the shoe. Pull out the cord or harness. Adjust the parking brake system after installing new brake pads.
