Devices that signal the presence of a switched on radar are allowed in Russia and are called detectors. The situation with antiradars is more complicated, they are prohibited, as they distort the signal.
Necessary
Radar detector
Instructions
Step 1
Among the radars used by the traffic police, there are devices with constant radiation, impulse devices and laser guns that are difficult to detect by detectors.
Step 2
When choosing a detector, take into account one of the main requirements for them: the device must timely detect the area of operation of the equipment of the traffic police and adequately respond to incoming signals. There are 5 radar frequency bands: X, K, Ka, Ku and La (laser).
Step 3
Please note that most Russian radars operate in the K-band, a small percentage of instruments use the X-band. The Ku-band in Russia is not used and its presence in the device is not necessary, but if it is, then feel free to turn it off.
Step 4
Pulse radars operate in short pulses, the frequency and duration of which are different for different models. This design can trick even a powerful detector into presenting the signal as random interference. In order to effectively deal with impulse devices, check if your detector has the following modes: Instant-on and Ultra-X - detection of X-range impulse devices; Ultra-K - detection of K-band impulse devices, POP - modern technology that detects impulse devices of any type with high accuracy.
Step 5
Against laser radars, use powerful detectors capable of picking up the reflected laser signals, providing all-round shielding of the vehicle. If your car is not the only one on the track, this is quite feasible.
Step 6
When choosing a detector by price category, remember that the price and capabilities of this device are interrelated. Relatively inexpensive budget models (from two thousand rubles) will save you money when buying, but do not expect too much from them. The detection range of such devices, as a rule, is much lower, while the number of misses is much higher.
