Parking radar allows the driver to park in difficult conditions: in bad weather or when there is a large congestion of cars. He promptly informs about the distance to the obstacle, which reduces the likelihood of damage to the car.
Instructions
Step 1
Stock up on the necessary tools to complete the installation. You will need directly the parking radar itself, a cutter, which usually comes in the kit, a tape measure, a drill with a set of drills, various screwdrivers and wrenches. Don't forget a pencil or marker and masking tape.
Step 2
Wash and dry the vehicle thoroughly. Then place it on a level surface and apply the handbrake to prevent it from rolling while working. Disconnect a wire from the negative terminal of the storage battery and proceed with the disassembly of the passenger compartment. Do this very carefully so as not to lose small details and not get confused in the sequence of actions.
Step 3
Decide where the display will be installed. It can be mounted above the rear window or on the dashboard. Hang it where it is more convenient for you to look when parking in reverse. After that, remove the rear bumper of the car and wipe it thoroughly so that no traces of dirt and dust remain. Cover the entire surface with masking tape.
Step 4
Mark the holes for the sensors, of which there should be at least three. When installing the sensors, make sure that they are located strictly horizontally. The slightest deviation in any direction can cause incorrect work. Route the wires from the sensors inside the passenger compartment. To do this, you will need to remove some of the trim parts.
Step 5
After connecting all the connectors, be sure to adjust the parking radar. Do this strictly according to the instructions provided with the device. If testing was successful, then secure the wiring and reinstall the car parts that were removed. Be sure to try the radar in real life. To do this, conduct a couple of tests to get used to the new equipment and understand what obstacles can slip out of sight of the device.
