In Moscow, most parking lots are not free. Living in a big city is expensive. And this is understandable: the city cannot provide all motorists with parking space.
Every car owner wants to protect himself from various troubles, leaving his iron "horse" unattended. For this, there are special parking spaces for vehicles. Only it sometimes costs not a small amount of money. And yet the Moscow Government made an effort to place its car, without spending a lot of effort and money on it, it was available to everyone. For example, on weekends, there are concessions for all motorists who want to. You can park for free in many city parking spaces, but there are exceptions.
Nuances of free parking
Free parking is not available on all weekends, usually only on Sundays. Or it becomes free only on public holidays, or, for example, on Saturday, if Friday is a non-working day.
There are also rules that any self-respecting driver must follow: on the days of free parking, only occupy the places that are intended for your vehicle. Don't pretend to be disabled or public transport seats.
It is important to remember that free parking starts at 12 am and ends at 12 am. If you do not make it in time, you will be charged according to the tariff. Therefore, be vigilant and time your time.
Take a close look at the free parking map. The busiest spaces, mainly in the center of Moscow, are still paid and have an increased tariff even on Sundays. Parking for one hour can reach 380 rubles. A map of paid parking lots can be found at parking.mos.ru.
If you decided to cheat and did not pay for parking, then the fine will not be small - 5,000 rubles. The cost of parking largely depends on the time of day or night, as well as the street where you left your car.
Who can use the free parking on any day?
However, there are privileged categories of citizens who can use free parking on any day. These include: emergency services (emergency, police, ambulance, Ministry of Emergency Situations and others), owners of electric cars and motorcycles (without additional permission), prisoners of concentration camps (there must be permission), veterans of the Great Patriotic War, disabled people, parents from large families, participants defense of Moscow.
Residents of Moscow who have a residence permit near a paid parking lot can also apply for benefits. You need to issue a permit and your favorite car will have free parking in your "native" area. True, it will be free only at night (from 20.00 to 8.00). For the rest of the time, you will have to pay a fee (about 3000 rubles per year).
In addition, there are free intercept parking lots where you can park your vehicle without any problems. These parking facilities are available at 26 metro stations. They work from 6.00 to 21.30, which is very convenient. You can leave your vehicle absolutely free if the motorist makes at least two metro trips that day. But if this condition is not met, then parking will be quite expensive: 50 rubles per hour and 100 for the night. And yet, the use of such parking lots frees the city from traffic jams.
There are also open parking lots with a discounted rate. For example, 50 rubles for the first two hours, and then free of charge (usually at night).
It will be possible to save money if you decide to stay near large parks, for example, VDNKh. On weekdays, the tariff is 50 rubles per hour, and after two hours it is free. And many large shopping centers also practice free parking.
Free parking schedule in 2019
In January, these are mainly New Year's holidays: from 1 to 8 inclusive, the old new year is 13, and for some reason, January 20 and 27.
February: all Sundays - 3, 10, 17, 24 and one holiday Saturday - 23.
March: again Sundays 3, 10, 17, 24, 31. And of course, on March 8!
In April, public holidays are not expected, so the free "cheese" fell again on Sundays: 7, 14, 21, 28.
May: May 1st is everyone's favorite holiday (as without it), but May 9th is sacred. Otherwise, everyone, as usual, spoil us on Sundays: 5, 12, 19, 26.
In June, there is another holiday on the 12th. You can safely add your vehicle for free. And then the 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th.
July: 7, 14, 21, 28. Again Sundays. Why not? On a warm summer day, not walking around Moscow?
In the last month of summer, you can attach your iron "horse" without payment on the 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th.
The first month of autumn - September - will give you 5 free parking days: 1, 8, 15, 22, 29.
Only Sundays are free in October: 6, 13, 20, 27.
November is famous for the Day of National Unity (November 4), which means that parking is free again. And given that November 4 is Monday, November 3, respectively, is a free Sunday as usual. Not a bad weekend. Other free days: 10, 17, 24.
In the last month of the year, there are 5 Sundays (1, 8, 15, 22, 29), which can be used profitably, for example, to buy gifts for the whole family for the New Year.
Yes, maybe, given the frenetic pace of the big city, there aren't many free parking days. But they are, and that's great!
