Step 1
We go to a car dealership and buy cold welding. Just ask one of the salespeople, he should know. The seller will most likely offer you several options at once. These can be tubes or syringes with a product or "sausages" with a consistency like plasticine. Choose the one that you like, after listening to the employee's recommendations. Please note that "cold weld" must be sold in two components.
Step 2
You need to prepare the surface. Let's say we have a hole in the tank. It needs to be dried completely. Now sand the surface of the hole with sandpaper. However, some roughness and unevenness will be better left in order to ensure the best adhesion (penetration and adhesion of the weld to the given surface).
Step 3
The next point is degreasing. Better to treat the surface with acetone or gasoline. But in no case use kerosene, it is greasy. But the quality of our "welding" depends precisely on the quality of surface degreasing.
Step 4
Now you need to prepare the adhesive mixture. Read the instructions and follow them. Cut or extrude the desired amount of "weld" and mix with the second component. The mixture should be smooth. A little heat is allowed during mixing - this is normal.
Step 5
Start "welding". Apply the adhesive to the surface. It is best to do this as quickly as possible, because some products tend to polymerize quickly. Now wait until the "weld" is completely solidified. You can putty or paint over if needed.
