With the onset of winter and the onset of frost, very often on the street there are car owners who are trying to get out of the snow captivity. Not every driver wants to take a shovel and clear the driveway, they rely entirely on the engine power of their iron horse, as well as on winter tires. But you can only rely on this if the car is equipped with a manual transmission.
If there is a mechanic, then the car can be shaken by switching the box. Things will be completely different if an automatic transmission is installed in the car, or in other words, an automatic transmission.
The principle of operation of such a box is based on an increase in oil pressure with increasing speed. The whole process is controlled by electronics, and not by the driver, that is, the automatic transmission itself changes gears from high to low, and vice versa. If the car is manually switched, then it can be rocked. If there is a machine gun, then you can skid only for a short time, and then on condition that time is given to cool the oil in the box.
When slipping from a manual transmission, the clutch may fly, in which case it will be necessary to change the disc and the car will drive again. The design of the automatic transmission is quite serious, more complicated and more expensive. Therefore, if such a box fails, then there will be no trouble. Another disadvantage of slipping is an increase in the amount of fuel. If you step on the gas pedal, fuel will be consumed faster. Therefore, it is cheaper and easier to take a shovel and clear the snowdrifts. And the owners of a car with an automatic transmission should take into account the fact that skidding is categorically not recommended.
