The cabin filter thoroughly cleans the air that enters the vehicle and therefore needs to be changed regularly. On a Lada Kalina car, it is recommended to change the cabin filter every 15,000 km.
Necessary
- - new cabin filter;
- - screwdrivers;
- - cotton gloves.
Instructions
Step 1
Visit your nearest store and purchase a new car interior filter. You should buy a standard "Kalinovsky" filter. You can also purchase some analog of the factory model. Consult your dealer for details on the pros and cons of each filter model.
Step 2
Park the vehicle on a level surface and turn it off. Open the hood. Using a screwdriver, carefully remove from the grooves the small plugs on the right facing part. Be extremely careful as the plastic is very soft. It may have screwdriver dents that are difficult to fix.
Step 3
Find the two bolts that were covered by the caps. Unscrew them. In the center, find two more bolts that also secure the cladding, turn them out. Next, dismantle the wipers. You can do without removing them by first turning on and off the toggle switch so that the wipers remain in the raised position. Remove the cladding carefully.
Step 4
Use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the bolts holding the protective cover. One of them holds the washer hose, and the other two connect the shroud and body. If the bolts are tight, reverse them a few turns, and then continue unscrewing them further. Carefully inspect the removed bolt and clean it of dust and dirt, which can easily break the thread.
Step 5
Press out the latches that hold the filter housing. Do this very carefully, as the latches are very fragile and can easily break with excessive force. Now pull the filter on the end closest to you while sliding it in the opposite direction. Try to rotate the filter housing 45 degrees. Remove the filter from the grooves, clean the space under it, install a new one and reassemble the structure in the reverse order. Start the car and check the operation of the new filter.
