Mercedes-Benz A-class cars
Pedantic Germans have been producing cars that are distinguished by quality and reliability for more than a century. Thanks to these features, Mercedes-Benz occupies a worthy position in the global automotive industry.
The Mercedes-Benz A-Class is a group of compact vehicles designed for comfortable urban driving. The first models of this class were presented to the general public back in 1997. The main feature that set them apart from the mass of other small-sized cars is their exceptional design, which guarantees a high level of safety. Namely: due to the fact that the power units are located closer to the passenger compartment, in a direct collision, the engine and gearbox are shifted under the body, and not into the passenger compartment. In addition, despite their relatively small size, Mercedes A-class cars amaze with their volume of interior space and a spacious trunk.
In general, the Mercedes-Benz A-Class is appreciated preferably by practical and active people who pay special attention to the issue of road safety. These cars are certainly not just a means of transportation, but also irreplaceable partners in the daily life of business people, reflecting their unique style.
The main differences between the Mercedes A170 model and the A160
Mass production of the A160 and A170 models was launched by Mercedes back in 1997-1998. Over the next years, they have undergone repeated restyling and design changes. Despite the fact that outwardly both models practically do not differ, they are equipped with different power units and have different technical characteristics.
The modern Mercedes A160 is a three or five-door hatchback equipped with petrol or diesel engines with a volume of 1, 5 and 2 liters. The power of the diesel engine is 82 hp, while the gasoline engine produces 95 "horses".
Unlike its "brother", the Mercedes A170 is equipped with a more powerful engine with a return of 116 hp. and a volume of 1, 7 liters. Such an engine gives the car some advantage when accelerating. So, the A170 picks up a speed of 100 km / h in 10.9 seconds, and the A160, in turn, in 13.5 on a gasoline engine and in 15 seconds on a diesel engine. The increase in power also affected the maximum speed indicator. For example, the Mercedes-Benz A170 has a top speed of 188 km / h, which is 18 km / h more than the "160". It is worth adding that the Mercedes A170 in a five-door version has not been produced since 2009 and is currently only a three-door hatchback.
