Step 1
Please note that the service life of car wheels is directly dependent on how you care for them. Clean your alloy wheels every two weeks and once a week during winter. Using car shampoo and a sponge, rinse the outside of the disc with warm water first. Then use plenty of water to remove any dirt inside the spokes that will damage the coating on your wheels.
Step 2
Be sure to read the instructions for use of cleaning products. Ordinary household chemicals can be corrosive to the factory coating of alloy wheels and damage it. Use special care products for light alloy wheels.
Step 3
Remember that profile mixes containing inhibitors significantly slow down corrosion. Apply cleaning, washing and polishing agents to the surface with suitable materials. Do not use detergents containing solvents, acids or alcohol. They are capable of damaging the coating of the wheels, their fasteners and brake pads.
Step 4
Polish the wheels with a good quality automotive wax and a soft cloth to remove tar and minor scratches from the surface. Do not handle unwashed wheels - dirt and sand will scratch the metal and it will lose its luster.
Step 5
Clean the front and back of the wheels. Rinse off any remaining cleaning agent with water. If you find even a minor defect in the coating of the disc, immediately take measures to exclude the appearance of corrosion. If you have a wheel set that is not used for driving at certain times of the year, store it in a clean and dry place.
Step 6
Do not spray discs with high pressure steam, which will destroy their gloss. To avoid stains on the metal surface, do not wash heated discs. Remember that the reflected light from the bright surface of the wheel and the shine of its spokes enhances not only the appearance of the wheels, but also gives an elegant look to the entire car.
