Scratches spoil the look of the car. Almost every car enthusiast has encountered this problem, and if the damage is not eliminated in time, rust may appear on the body. Scratches and chips can be removed by contacting a car dealership, but you can also try to repair the damage yourself.
Necessary
- - sandpaper
- - primer
- - putty knife
- - paint of the required color
- - solvent for degreasing surfaces
- - two-component polyester putty with hardener
Instructions
Step 1
Sand the dirt and rust off with sandpaper. Work on the damage until the rust is gone. Try to limit the scope of the stripping if you are not going to repaint the entire part completely.
Step 2
Then the place of stripping must be putty. Apply the putty strictly according to the instructions. Apply it in a thin, even layer with a rubber trowel.
Step 3
Wait for the putty to dry completely. Then you should start "grouting". Use coarse sandpaper first, then gradually reduce the grain of the sandpaper to remove any unevenness in the putty layer.
Step 4
Then a layer of primer is applied to the leveled surface. Then you need to wait until the soil is completely dry, and process this area with fine sandpaper using water.
Step 5
Before applying paint, the surface must be degreased with a special solvent. Apply the pre-selected paint with a brush or spray gun, in two layers.
