Many new car models go on sale already with special fasteners for the mechanical anti-theft system, which greatly simplifies its installation, since there is no need to drill additional holes. You just have to choose and purchase a system designed specifically for your model. Each anti-theft system must be accompanied by detailed instructions for its installation, which allows you to do it yourself.

According to experts, you should not neglect the installation of additional protection in the form of a lock on the hood, which will not allow an attacker to de-energize the sound signaling under the hood. Almost all modern mechanical anti-theft systems are made in such a way that they are located in hard-to-reach places, which also reduces the chances of a hijacker.

Steering shaft locks are usually pin locks. With their help, the steering shaft is locked in the clutch. The bonnet locks have no anti-theft effect. Their main task is to prevent the hijacker from entering the engine compartment. These locks are of two types - mechanical and electromechanical. Mechanical locks block the opening of a standard lock. In contrast to them, electromechanical locks have their own locking device, which is an addition to the standard lock.

Gearbox locks are also available in two versions - pin and pinless. To install a pin lock, you need to insert the pin into the counterpart. Unlocking is carried out with a key with which the pin is released. The pinless design assumes only the action of the key. There is no need to insert or remove anything.
