The decision to change the oil in a manual gearbox (gearbox) comes in different ways. For example, your ear caught extraneous sounds during the gearbox operation. Or are you worried that your car's mileage is more than 90 thousand km, and the oil has never been changed. It would be nice to change the oil when buying a used car. After all, you do not know what the previous owner of the car could have poured into the transmission. To prevent such thoughts "from tearing your heart", change the oil - and you will be calmer, and the car will benefit.

Necessary

  • - a container for draining the used oil;
  • - oil blower

Instructions

Step 1

Choose which oil you want to add. It is best if it is oil that was filled into the gearbox at the factory. Determine the required volume by the size of the filling tanks. Prepare a container for draining used oil and an oil blower.

Step 2

Now decide whether you will flush the checkpoint or not. There is no definite answer to this question, but it is believed that flushing the gearbox when changing the oil is still desirable. During operation, the oil can oxidize. Synchronizers work using frictional forces, which leads, albeit to a slight, heating, which affects the change in the structure of the oil. All this suggests that the used oil must be removed completely. It is recommended to drain oil from a heated gearbox. Immediately after the ride, park the car on a pit or overpass. Loosen the filler plug. Install a container to drain the used oil. Then unscrew the drain plug and carefully drain the oil into a container. Almost all gearbox drain plugs are equipped with a magnet to collect metal particles. Therefore, after removing the plug, wipe it thoroughly and clean the magnet from debris that has settled on it.

Step 3

Remove any remaining oil from the box. To do this, put the drain plug in place, fill in 1-1.5 liters of gasoline or kerosene through the filler hole. Then start the engine and without load, hanging the drive wheels, flush the gearbox. Drain the flush, check the integrity of the sealing washer.

Step 4

After the rinsing residues have flowed out, put the plug in the drain hole. Pour the oil to be filled into the oil pump, lower the pump connection into the filler hole. Pour oil until the level is at the bottom edge of the filler hole. Tighten the filler cap. Everything, the oil in the checkpoint is changed.
