Grease leakage from transimmission units is a serious malfunction. And if this happens with the gearbox, then this fact only exacerbates the problem. Because it is simply impossible to constantly monitor the oil level in the crankcase of the device, and even more so to compensate for its losses. Due to the fact that it is located in a hard-to-reach place, at the bottom of the car.

Step 1

In preparation for the repair of the gearbox associated with replacing the sealing gland, it is necessary to find out which of the three existing ones has leaked. Despite the fact that you can change without removing the gearbox, only one of them, located at the output of the secondary shaft, is possible, it is still better to dismantle the unit from the machine.

Step 2

Scheduled repairs are carried out on an inspection pit or lift, carrying it out on an overpass is the worst option. For this purpose, the car is placed in one of the indicated places, and wheel chocks are installed under its wheels. Then the parking brake is released and the gear shift lever is moved to neutral.

Step 3

After dismantling the box, inspect it carefully again, and by the fresh trail of transmission oil leakage from it, determine the true culprit for the problem. In the event that the loss of lubrication occurred from under the seal of the input shaft, the release fork is removed from the clutch housing, and then the clutch with the bearing is removed from the input shaft.

Step 4

At the next stage, six bolts of its fastening to the gearbox are unscrewed inside the clutch cover, after which it is separated from the crankcase of the main unit and placed on a plane that is docked to the engine.

Step 5

With a screwdriver, a worn rubberized oil seal is removed from the clutch housing housing, as a rule, it is red. Instead, a new spare part is inserted and upset on the seat with a hammer through a wooden extension.

Step 6

To avoid scuffing the rubber coating of the oil seal, lubricate its surface with engine oil.

Step 7

Some craftsmen, when installing a new oil seal, reduce the diameter of the inner spring ring, cutting off two or three turns from it. But such amateur performance of the performers runs counter to the recommendations of the spare parts manufacturers.
