Leaking engine oil from under the oil seal, installed in the front cover of the engine, enters the alternator belt and is sprayed throughout the engine compartment. Getting into various places, the oil destroys the integrity of the rubber from which the belt, water pipes and other parts are made.

Instructions
Step 1
Despite the inaccessibility of the front crankshaft oil seal, it can be changed without removing the engine. The procedure for replacing this part is not considered difficult, but it will require a little time from the owner and additional disassembly of the front of the car in order to gain access to the crankshaft pulley, under which the oil seal is located.
Step 2
At the preparatory stage, antifreeze is drained from the engine, and then the front grille and radiator of the cooling system are removed.
Step 3
Then it is necessary to remove the alternator drive belt and secure the engine from turning by locking the flywheel.
Step 4
After completing the entire list of preparatory work, unscrew the bolt securing the front pulley to the engine crankshaft with a ratchet wrench.
Step 5
After removing the bolt, the front pulley is removed using a universal puller.
Step 6
Then, with a screwdriver, or other suitable tool, the oil seal is removed from the front cover, and a new one is installed instead.
Step 7
With the help of a mandrel and a hammer, the new oil seal is upset along the depth of the groove in the front cover.
Step 8
The installation of the pulley and all further actions are performed in the reverse order.
Step 9
After assembling the car and filling with antifreeze, perform a test start of the engine to make sure there is no engine oil leak.
