Rear suspension springs must be replaced if they sink or are damaged in any way. Regardless of which spring is damaged, be sure to replace both springs at the same time and install the same springs. It is also necessary to remove the springs when replacing the shock absorber or compression travel buffer.

- - lift or jack;
- - a set of spanners and open-end wrenches and socket heads.
Instructions
Step 1
To remove the rear springs on classic VAZ models, before starting work, install the car on an inspection pit or overpass with good lighting. Use the handbrake and wheel pads to secure the vehicle. The ignition must be off.
Step 2
Using a 10 key, unscrew the nut securing the pressure regulator rod to the rear axle. When doing so, support the bolt with a suitable wrench. Disconnect the lower end of the pressure regulator link. Unscrew the brake pipe tee with the same wrench. If the car has a high mileage, lubricate this connection with a penetrating grease. Remove the tee.
Step 3
Detach the rear shock absorber from the mounting bracket. Hang up the rear wheel. Remove the rear spring together with its plastic spacer. Remove the upper spring rubber pad from the support cup. Inspect all gaskets and replace with new ones if damaged.
Step 4
To remove the springs on front-wheel drive VAZ cars, also place the car on the inspection pit and fix it. Remove the rear seat backrest and move the rear wheel well trim aside. Using a 17 wrench, unscrew the nut located on top of the niche. At the same time, hold the shock absorber rod with a key of 6.
Step 5
Remove the nut, thrust washer, spring washer, and top pad. Using two 19 keys, unscrew the nut that secures the shock absorber to the beam. Remove the shock absorber bolt using a drift if necessary.
Step 6
Take out the shock absorber with the spring. Remove the spring, lower cushion and compression buffer from the shock absorber. Often the spring gasket "sticks" to the body. If there are deformations and breaks on it, replace it with a new one.
Step 7
To remove the spring on "Kalina" and "Priora" hang out its rear part. Remove the rear wheels. Lower the rear until the springs begin to compress. Remove or tilt the rear seat backs. Having locked the rear shock absorber rods, unscrew the two nuts that secure them to the body.
Step 8
Remove the spring washers, upper pad washers and upper rubber pads. Hang up the rear again to release the springs. Disconnect the shock absorber from the suspension arms and remove the shock absorber assembly. Remove the spring, gasket, bushing, washer, bottom cushion, shroud, and compression buffer from the shock absorber.
