Necessary

  • - car enamel;
  • - White Spirit;
  • - paint control panel.

Instructions

Step 1

Before you start painting the car, wash it thoroughly using various detergents. As a result, road dirt will be removed from the car body. And with the help of special products or white spirit, remove bitumen and grease stains from the surface of the machine.

Step 2

Having finished the process of cleaning the body, dismantle the rear and front bumpers, various lighting equipment located outside, headlights, sidelights, turn signals, decorative radiator grill. If there is shock protection in the wheel arches, it must also be removed. After that, carefully wash the removed parts, dry them and carefully fold them in a separate place. Also rinse the fender flanges well in the wheel openings and remove dirt and stains from them.

Step 3

Then carry out a control cleaning of the body from dust and cover with paper or newspapers those places on the body that should not be painted. Also close the wheels completely. Remember that between painted and unpainted surfaces, the shoulder height will be approximately 0.02mm, which will be noticeable. Therefore, place the boundaries of unpainted and painted parts of the car body on the bends of the parts.

Step 4

Remove the factory paint from the body surface with sandpaper until the painted surface acquires a matte shade, then remove the dust from it again and wipe it with a rag soaked in white spirit and dry well. During and after these procedures, check the cleanliness of the body surface.

Step 5

When all the preparatory work is completed, proceed directly to painting the car. Dilute the enamel with a solvent in the same proportion as indicated in the instructions to the desired consistency. Pour the diluted enamel into the reservoir of the spray gun, using a mesh funnel to filter it. If not, use a nylon stocking. Install the nozzle No. 1, 4 on the gun, and the air pressure in the gun should be 2, 5-3, 0 atm.

Step 6

Apply the paint starting from the roof of the car in a reciprocating motion. Observe the distance between the gun and the surface, it should be 150-200 mm. After the initial painting, take a break for 15 minutes, then apply another coat of paint. Do not rush to paint, the real color of the paint and its depth appears only after painting with the second layer. The painted car dries, as a rule, 25-35 hours at a temperature of + 20 ° C.
