The high-speed motorway Moscow - St. Petersburg is the planned highway that will connect the two largest cities of the country. This is one of the first toll roads in Russia.

Representatives of the state-owned company Avtodor, responsible for the construction of the highway, say that as of September 2012, no specific calculations of the cost of toll on the highway have been made yet. Approximately travel along the 43-kilometer section of the road in front of the city of Moscow will cost within the framework of the established concession agreement, namely 3, 60 rubles per kilometer. At the entrance to St. Petersburg, the road along a section with a length of 37 kilometers will cost, according to preliminary calculations, 2, 20 rubles per kilometer.

To travel along the rest of the toll sections of the M-11 highway (the central part of the road passing through the Novgorod, Tver and Moscow regions), you will need to pay about one ruble per kilometer. Considering the fact that on average 237 rubles will have to be paid for the main sections at the exit from St. Petersburg and Moscow, and 300 rubles for the rest of the road, then in general the entire journey will cost about 600 rubles.

According to the organization responsible for the construction of the highway, the travel time on the toll highway from one capital is estimated at about five hours. The road will bypass settlements, there will be no traffic lights, traffic police posts, and the maximum permissible speed will be 110 km / h.

The timing of the construction of the Moscow - St. Petersburg highway has been adjusted for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. This was announced at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (PEF) by the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Maxim Sokolov.

The new toll highway is being created on the basis of a public-private partnership, and it is planned to give priority during the selection of a concessionaire to a company that will be able to provide the most successful options for reducing government funding. It is assumed that 75% of the cost of the route will be repaid at the expense of the state grant.
